Es el hotel más caro del mundo. Sólo tiene suites dobles y la suite real cuesta 28 mil dólares por noche. El edificio está construido con la forma de un velero de 321 metros de altura, paredes de oro, ocho restaurantes (uno de ellos submarino), cuatro piscinas, un parque acuático propio y habitaciones de hasta 780 metros cuadrados. La decoración interior del edificio la hizo la china Khuan Chew bajo instrucciones del jeque de Dubai. Tiene cantidades ingentes de mármol de Statutario (el mismo que empleó Miguel Angel para sus esculturas) en la recepción; mármol de Carrara para paredes y pisos, piedras preciosas del norte de Italia, mosaicos árabes, terciopelo, 8 mil metros cuadrados de láminas de oro de la India y unas 30 mil luces.
